John Harrell, PhD (2024)

At-Large Member

Dr. Harrell is a Research Physiologist in the Aerospace
Physiology Research Section in 711 th Human Performance
Wing (United States Air Force). He completed the Aerospace
Physiology Officer course (USAFSAM) and is a Board Certified
Aerospace Physiologist. In addition to his term on the BoG,
Dr. Harrell serves on the Career Opportunities in Physiology
Committee of the American Physiological Society. Dr. Harrell
is also a reviewer for Aerospace Medicine and Human
Performance. His research interests include physiological
responses to extreme environments and countermeasures to
maximize human performance. Outside work, Dr. Harrell has
been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Dayton
teaching undergraduate physiology. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams.
